Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the public Mock Brains website, including the landing page, the Brain Stack product page, legal pages, CTA interactions, the Brain Scan inquiry form, and the start of a Brain Stack checkout.

Checkout itself happens on Stripe, and your download is delivered from my.mockbrains.com; both are covered in section 5. It does not replace any separate proposal, statement of work, services agreement, platform agreement, or data processing agreement that may later apply to an actual client relationship.

2. Information We Collect

Mock Brains may collect the following categories of information:

• Information you provide directly. This includes your name, work email, company, role or team context, focus area, and any workflow details or business challenges you submit through the inquiry form.
• Attribution and campaign data. The site may capture UTM parameters and related referral details if you arrive from a campaign, email, partner, or Catalyst handoff, and may attach them to an inquiry or a purchase.
• Interaction and measurement data. Mock Brains tracks limited operating signals such as CTA clicks, inquiry starts, inquiry submissions, checkout starts and completed purchases.
• Purchase data. When you buy Brain Stack, Stripe collects your payment card details, billing address and email. Mock Brains receives the order record (not your full card number), the versions of the terms you accepted, any promotion code applied, and the attribution data described above.
• Technical request data. Hosting and site infrastructure may log IP address, browser type, device details, referring page, timestamps, and diagnostic information tied to requests.

Please do not submit passwords, payment card data, protected health information, regulated financial data, or unnecessary confidential customer records through the public inquiry form unless Mock Brains explicitly asks for them through a separate secure workflow.

3. How We Use Information

Mock Brains uses the information described above to:

• respond to inquiries and schedule Brain Scan or discovery conversations;
• understand the business problem or operational bottleneck you describe;
• evaluate fit for strategy, implementation, or managed infrastructure support;
• deliver Brain Stack purchases, send download links and product updates, handle refunds and support requests;
• improve messaging, offer positioning, CTA placement, and demand generation;
• maintain site security, prevent fraud, monitor performance, and troubleshoot errors; and
• comply with legal obligations or protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the site.

Mock Brains does not sell personal information submitted through the site. Inquiry, purchase and measurement data are used to run the marketing site, respond to requests, fulfil orders, and improve business development operations.

4. Tracking, Cookies, and Analytics

The site uses Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags and event collection, including Google Analytics 4. Depending on your browser settings and the tags configured inside the GTM container, this may involve cookies, browser identifiers, referrer information, and site interaction data.

The current site implementation is designed to track a focused set of events, including CTA clicks, form starts, form submissions, checkout starts and purchases. When you start a Brain Stack checkout, the site passes your Google Analytics client identifier with the order so the completed purchase can be attributed to the campaign that brought you. Hosting providers may also use cookies, logs, or related technologies necessary for delivery, debugging, rate limiting, or security.

You can usually manage cookies and client-side tracking through your browser settings, privacy controls, or extensions. Blocking some scripts may affect how certain site interactions or measurements function.

Some browsers send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Because the site does not sell personal information or run cross-site advertising, its measurement behavior is the same whether or not those signals are present; you can still block measurement scripts entirely with browser tools as described above.

5. Brain Stack Purchases

Brain Stack is sold through Stripe Checkout. When you click a buy button, the site asks a Mock Brains Cloud Function (Firebase) to create a checkout session and sends it the attribution data, any promotion code in the page address, your Google Analytics client identifier, and the versions of the Terms of Sale, EULA and disclosures shown on the page. Stripe then collects your card details and billing address directly; Mock Brains never sees your full card number.

After payment, Stripe notifies Mock Brains, which records the order (email, amount, promotion code, consent to the terms, attribution) in Firestore, delivers the download from my.mockbrains.com, and emails a download link. Brain Stack is currently sold to US billing addresses only; orders from other countries are refunded automatically.

Purchase records are retained for as long as needed to provide updates during your 12-month update window, to handle refunds and support, and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Your rights to those records are described in section 8. The purchase itself is governed by the Brain Stack Terms of Sale and the Refund Policy.

6. Sharing, Service Providers, and External Services

Mock Brains may share information with vendors and service providers that help operate the site, including:

• Formspree for inquiry form processing and delivery workflow;
• Google, including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and related measurement or diagnostics services that may be configured through the GTM container;
• Stripe for payment processing, fraud prevention and receipts when you buy Brain Stack;
• Firebase (Google Cloud), including Firebase Hosting, Cloud Functions, Firestore and App Hosting, for site delivery, checkout handling, purchase records and download delivery;
• advisors, contractors, or subprocessors that support site operations or business administration under appropriate confidentiality or service terms.

Mock Brains may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, regulatory request, or when reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, prevent fraud, respond to a security issue, or protect rights and safety.

The site may contain links to external websites or services, including Oracle Cloud and the open-source projects Brain Stack installs. Once you leave the Mock Brains domain, the privacy practices of those external properties are governed by their own notices and terms.

7. Data Retention and Security

Mock Brains retains inquiry and measurement data for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to requests, understand business development performance, maintain records, improve the site, and satisfy legal or contractual obligations. Purchase records are kept as described in section 5.

No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, but Mock Brains uses commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards appropriate to a marketing site and inquiry workflow, including established third-party providers for hosting, form processing, payments, and measurement tooling.

Because the inquiry form is public and internet-facing, you should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information through it.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection related to certain personal information.

• You can choose not to submit the inquiry form.
• You can ask Mock Brains to update or delete inquiry information it reasonably controls.
• You can ask for a copy of, or correction to, the purchase record tied to your order; records needed for tax, accounting or fraud prevention may be retained.
• You can opt out of some non-essential tracking using browser tools or privacy controls.
• You can ask not to receive ongoing outreach beyond a response to your inquiry or the delivery of your order.

Mock Brains will evaluate requests in light of applicable law, technical feasibility, business recordkeeping obligations, and any existing contractual requirements.

9. Children, Changes, and Contact

This site is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 13. If Mock Brains becomes aware that information from a child has been submitted through the site without appropriate authorization, it will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Mock Brains may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a revised version on this page with a new last-updated date. Material changes should be reviewed before continuing to use the site or submitting information.
